Most of you understand that libraries are needed most when the economy is at its worst. As entertainment budgets decrease, families will take greater advantage of library resources. On a downward economic cycle, libraries become important elements of economic recovery as the unemployed seek help with resumes, job searches, job applications and work skills improvement.

The State Library, in partnership with the SC Association of Public Library Administrators, is in the process of developing a statewide advocacy campaign. We understand that libraries must deliver a very clear message, consistently and constantly across a broad audience of library supporters and potential supporters. If you are reading this you are one who is interested in the future of South Carolina Libraries.
